Alley In The Dupont Circle Area
The back alleys of a city can be as interesting as anything. They have a texture that is different from the street-facing façade. This alley is near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. Door in Castillo San Felipe del Morro
The fortifications of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, are a maze of passageways. The Spanish designed the complex to let natural light in rather than rely on artificial light during the daytime, be it candles or electric lights.
Chapel In Santa Maria Magdalena De Pazzis
A cemetery sits below El Morro. It's outside the city walls of Old San Juan, separate from the living. A large, round chapel sits among the memorials. It dominates the scene and is a bit mysterious. The doors aren't open, but you can peak inside and see the shrine. The same windows let in the sunshine and fresh air.
